Apple today is a multinational technology company that is worth billions of dollars. Apple is the world's largest information technology company by revenue, the world's largest technology company by total assets, and the world's second-largest mobile phone manufacturer. Who would've known all this success started from two college dropouts. The billion dollar company has had a long journey from its begining to now. Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak innovation and creative insight has made Apple what it is today.
Jobs and Wozniak had a vision of a computer for the rest of us. When Jobs created an Apple I, a kit for building a PC, his sole purpose was to have a simpler way to access the technologies just coming out at the time. Jobs had become immortal because he had something in the late 70's that nobody else had, the conviction that a computer didn't have have to be shared between four or five people in a lab , instead in can be used by just one individual. Jobs once said, "our whole company is founded on the principle that there is something very different that happens with one person, one computer." This is significant because it showed how eager they were to remove the barrier of having to learn to use a computer. Wozniak and Jobs wanted to "domesticate" the computer and turned it into an appliance, like a dishwasher or microwave. Wozniak worked on the invention of products, and Jobs was responsible for marketing. With Wozniak's knowledge of electronics and Jobs' marketing skills, the two were well-suited to do business together.
Before Apple was an idea, Steve Jobs and Wozniak were brainiacs in the making. Before focusing his attention on Apple,Wozniak was employed at Hewlett-Packard where he designed calculators. He later re-enrolled at De Anza College and transferred to University of California, Berkeley in 1971.It was during this time that he befriended Steve Jobs. Wozniak was introduced to Jobs by friend Bill Fernandez. Jobs and Wozniak became friends when Jobs worked for the summer at Hewlett-Packard where Wozniak too was employed, working on a mainframe computer. Waznoki first met Jobs in 1971 during his college years, while he was in high school. A friend said, 'you should meet Steve Jobs, because he likes electronics and he also plays pranks.' he introduced them. During the time, many people never had the interest of electronics and technologies hence why they clicked so well. This common interest is what brought them closer together .
Since Jobs and Wozniak had common interest it was easier to relate to each other and really decide what they wanted to do for Apple itself. Steve Jobs had already had designed many computers, so he was way ahead of Wozniak in electronics and computer design, but each of them both had pretty much sort of an independent attitude about the things in the world.Wozniak was fascinated by electronics at an early age. He had an aptitude for building working electronics from scratch. Jobs was taught how to take apart and reconstruct electronics at a young age, a hobby that instilled confidence, tenacity and mechanical prowess in young Jobs. .Jobs and Wozniak are credited with revolutionizing the computer industry by creating technology that works with people, and not inventing technology that is difficult for people to grasp and understand. Wozniak and Jobs main interest was to create technology that works with people and not against them. At the time computers were so difficult to use that only a few selected people can use them, so they thought it would be right to establish something that can be straightforward to understand. They were interested in supplying the people to what they wanted. What made them immortal from the other competition was he wanted to create technology that was easier for people to use,a smaller device, less expensive, and something that was accessible to the general public .
In conclusion, Apple today has clearly left an impact since Jobs. It is still accessible to the general public and is still easy to use from age 6 to 60. In the last quarter last year, Apple made $18 billion dollars profit. This shows that Wozniak and Jobs has clearly left a legacy that
